சிவாலயங்களின் அமைப்பை உற்று நோக்கி உணரவல்லார்க்குக் கருவறையில் முதலிடத்தில் உள்ள இலிங்கமே பதியாயும், அவ்விலிங்கத்தின் திருமுன்பில் உள்ள இடபமே பசுவாயும், (உயிராயும்) இடபத்திற்குப் பின் உள்ள பலிபீடமே அடக்கிஒடுக்கப்பட்ட பாசமாயும் காட்சியளிக்கும்.
